Meanwhile my friend in Dublin, Ireland sent me this pic earlier around 2pm 

Now they have up to an inch of snow in Dublin now - albeit wet but not snow was forecast!? How strange? Anyone else in rep of Ireland reporting snow???

 This pic was taken at 2pm and is around 20-30 mins outside of Dublin - see there is a light dusting of wet snow now and starting to settle on roads!!

The wind has also died down quite a lot since this morning, but it has now clouded over once again as Storm Freya makes its approach in this direction.

This means that a total of 1.2 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank (where today will therefore, go down as another official rain day as a result) as at 8pm this evening along with 0.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
