It is a case of being back to the usual winter borefest in this part of the world as it is cloudy just now with nothing which is even remotely interesting in terms of our weather, actually happening although it is very windy with the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to 34.2mph from the SW as at midnight.

The result of this is that the temperatures are still refusing to drop as a result of there being too much cloud and too much wind, so the temperature at midnight was 10.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

It is clearly much milder than what it was at this time yesterday and we now have to endure that ultimate nightmare winter scenario of double figures nighttime temperatures during what is still supposed to be our so-called "winter".

A dull and dreary start to today, although there are a few breaks in the cloud with occasional bright intervals. The wind has now died down a bit but with the temperatures refusing to drop during the night, we have entered into yet another frost-free hell.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 8.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Not much happening here as usual.

There is still a lot of cloud around and although there is also some areas of blue sky around, a total of just 12 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon which is in complete contrast to the completely sunny conditions which we were experiencing at this time during yesterday.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 8.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This makes last night, the mildest night of this year so far at all three of my local stations.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 9.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

While it is more cloudier and hazier than of late, it is still quite bright and dry, along with the current 10.3 c & 88% h feeling pleasantly mild in light winds.
