Last night was clear to begin with, with a brief official air frost being recorded at Edinburgh Airport before it then clouded over. Once that happened, the temperature then jumped back up and it would appear as though there must have been a shower of rain at around that time as well, since a total of 0.2 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 8am this morning, albeit with nothing at all in that department at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Later on though, the skies then cleared once again. That has allowed the temperature to drop once again with an official air frost being recorded at Edinburgh Airport and the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. That has then, taken us into yet another bright and sunny start to today.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 0.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, -2°C at Edinburgh Airport and -0.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

After a lovely sunny start it became cloudy this afternoon & is still cloudy now 8.4c, calm, RH 69%, pressure 1031mb rising.

Today was sunny for much of the time and in the end, a total of 6.8 hours of sunshine was recorded for today.
