It's raining here in Edinburgh as I write and in the end, a total of 1.4 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 1.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This means that yesterday will now go down as the first official rain of this month at both of those stations, as well as the wettest day of this month so far at both of those stations.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 5.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 5°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Drove to Teignmouth yesterday on A380 on haldon hill there was at least 4-5" of snow in the hedges still and it was still fairly thick esp in the shades of hedges and even 0.5 of a mile outside Teignmouth just on the hill there was still snow lying -albeit patchy nature!

Today - (Sunday) I drove up to Braunton earlier via the A361 link road from Tiverton to Barnstaple this morning and saw that there was a,ot of snow in the fields and shades and hedges side of roads and in the banks etc but it looked patchy but as I drove back at 11pm it was raining heavily with a hint of sleet and a temp of around 4-5c around Rackenford and Knowstone and most of that snow had melted and by the time I GOT back to Exeter aroun d 12am it was 7.5c with rain! Temp rising to 8c now.

Not looking forward to a week of wind rain and more rain and wind and cloud and crap!

As if we all haven't seen enough rain already this winter!?

I thought it was supposed to rain most of the day but it's dried up already after just 2.8mm. Temp 1.4C and most of the snow has melted but dregs remain. When it gets to this state I just want it to disappear completely.

Not very nice to look out there this morning, the snow has gone and everything is wet and miserable.

Full cloud cover with a hint of a breeze, 8C but feels colder.

Back to normality I suppose, grey, damp and overcast, yuk.

Dull & overcast but the rain gauge reads 0.0 mm, it's the 95% h that is keeping the dampness going. It's also cold and clammy at 5.0 c which ironically is today's minimum! (The max is 7.3 c at 3.30 am).

February is usually a crap month for this neck of the woods, this one appears to be running true to form (although to be fair I did have a sunny day two days ago). Now I have strong winds to look forward to in a few days time.
