Haven’t posted for ages due to negative PM about me living where I do and “ not being representative on much of the UK” lol.

very wintry here. Currently heavy snow, -5C and min was -14.6C! 8cm lying. Winds light, northerly.

A completely sunny morning means that a total of 3.2 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

Unlike yesterday as well, there is no freezing fog around this time to keep the temperatures down and because of that, the temperatures have gone up a lot more sharply today than what they did yesterday which is a reminder once again that if we were going to have an official ice day during this winter, that really had to happen during yesterday.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon has now shot up to the dizzy heights of 0.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 0°C at Edinburgh Airport and 1.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Temperatures in the Wooler area increased throughout the night from a low of -6.3c at 8.30pm. Rose above zero by 11am and now around 2c in bright sunshine. Last nights light snow showers deposited a dusting of grains. Todays showers are all going south of here, but hopes are high for tonight.

Had snow shrs today but not really adding to the cover as they haven't been that heavy. High of 1.3c.

This afternoon has been largely sunny and although there is now a bit more in the way of cloud around, a total of 6.1 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon.

Today's maximum temperature was 3.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 3°C at Edinburgh Airport and 3.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh so today ended up not being as cold as what it was yesterday.

Today ended up with more in the way of cloud and in the end, a total of 6.4 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Now, tt's currently snowing here in Edinburgh (as at just after 8pm) which has now made everything look nice and and white. The only downside of this is that the temperatures as a result, are refusing to drop at the moment due to there being too much cloud around although an official air frost has once again, been recorded at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm was 0.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 0°C at Edinburgh Airport and -1.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Raining, 15.0 mm so far today. 4.1 c. A grim, wet, manky evening but winds are light.

The one positive I can glean from this is hopefully this would put off the local night club revellers and tonight will be a quiet night for it. I mean, you have got to be stupid or drunk to want to go ou . . .  oh, wait.

With a high of 4.3C today almost all the snow has gone off the roads and pavements. Current temp has dropped to 0.1C now.
