I use a different one but generally find them pretty accurate although they are prone to short term changes as things develop. If you want confirmation of snow, the band currently above Stirling crossed alt na feadh which can be viewed on traffic Scotland webcam, which shows snow on road, although cam is at circa 230m asl
Its the one i used as it comes in an App. Id say for ease of use - its pretty accurate.
Ignore the snow/rain thing though - i doubt anyone really has an excellent one of those.

Raining for 30 minutes - surprised not to see any wintry mix yet.

Main band of rain cleared around 3pm with only spits of light since then and yet again we have temperatures failing to fall!
Meanwhile some undulations in the clouds looking NW as it clears up behind front! - Taken FROM Haven Banks Exeter:

In the flatlands of South Cambridgeshire 15m ASL.
I've got a feeling it will only be rain in my location, however I did predict Elise Christie to win treble gold at the Winter Olympics so my predictions are a bit Chris Grayling to say the least.
The NW radar showed a big surge in the "snow" parameter eastwards around 5pm but that has now reversed and rain is now predominating again.
I spotted that too, although it seems to have surged a little eastwards again now? Still just rain here in south central Hampshire (unsurprisingly) although temperature falling nicely just down the road in Southampton....

Back home at 500ft more like 3cm but still a lot of slush around. Will be fun when this lot freezes overnight.....

NW radar suggests snow for the Chilterns now?
Mixture of rain, sleet & snow here in Watford, it must be more snow up there.

Listening to the heavy rain on the conservatory roof, annoyed for a moment that the intense rain had stopped before the temperature dropped; went out to the bin. It hadn't stopped- or rather, the rain had. Heavy snow at 6.10pm is so near-perfectly close to forecasts in GFS. Laying on cars, wood (fences & bridge) and some grass.
What fooled me was the noise of the rain stopping: it had merely been replaced by the whisper tiptoes of the snow.
Sleety now though. Will keep a vigil.
