Again a lot of people reporting mostly sleet looking at precipitation type radar on met check - this is not surprise!

Most of the snow if any is NW Scotland, the highlands and N, Ireland - no snow over Pennines or even highest top of the welsh hills and mountains - at best it's sleet!?

https://www.metcheck.com/WEATHER/precipitype.asp?V=Z

ALSO just shows how that cold air has under cut that front or whatever you call it? - Look at southern Ireland in rainfall precipitation type radar - it shows showers mostly turning to snow and many showers over N. England or even Scotland are still of rain or of sleet at best over Cumbria/N. York moors etc!

We’re in a light patch. Wouldn’t surprise me if we get snow again once the precipitation intensifies.

seems the second band of precip on the radar is the colder air line. As soon as it reached us my weather station recorded a 0.5*c drop in about 20 mins, steadily dopping still

First snow showers of the season here. Briefly heavy at times but not lasting long enough to settle. Sun is very strong and glarish in between.

Just did a trawl through the Traffic Wales, A470 cameras.

Snowing heavily and settling at Storey Arms (approx 330m ASL)

Snowing heavily, but not settling yet, at the A470 / A465 Heads of the Valleys intersection (appox 200mASL) ... it was rain here around 1pm when I last had a look.

Light snow, light winds, a patchy dusting on the grass - where I suspect the ground has remained frozen after the frosts of late. Temp. at just 0.2 C.

Edit: 15.35 .. Recent moderate to heavy snow now settled on all surfaces except the road and any pavements that are usually in the sunshine. Temp now at - 0.1 C

Im in frosty Pitlochry, south Highlands. Here we are in the polar maritime air and have escaped the frontal stuff. Arrived here mid afternoon to a snow shower at 0 C settling on the ice and frost. Recently sunny but big CuNimb approaching from the west. Hoping for another dusting

Well the main front passed with steady rain and a temp of 4.5c as the front started to clear the temp dropped to 2.8c with a hail/sleet mix. So some hope for those further north and east.
