For once, the weather briefly became a bit less boring than of late during the early hours of this morning with a few showers around, although these still haven't resulted in anything more than 0.2 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 0.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The skies are now clear but although it is colder this morning than of late, it is still nowhere near to being cold enough for a frost and so our frost-free hell goes on.

Has been a mostly cloudy day, but just like yesterday there were the occasional chinks of brightness as well as staying dry. A fresher feel to things at 8.4 c & 77% h under a mod NW breeze.

I am a bit sceptical about actually reporting that in this instance though, as a weak warm from is expected to move in later on, which could yet result in the temperatures going above those values during tonight, especially as we approach midnight.

In the meantime though, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 6.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 6.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

it's now a lot cloudier and windier with the temperature refusing once again to drop. Once again, the temperature is going up and as I predicted earlier on, it is now above the earlier reported maximum temperature for today.
