Overcast here in Edinburgh yet again, and there was even a little bit of rain a short while ago, although this was barely enough to even wet the ground which means that the increasingly long wait for our first recorded rainfall of this year goes on.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 5.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 6.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Calm and dry with patchy cloud - it’s like a stuck record!  But less cold at 6.5c.

There is the odd patch of blue sky here with some clearer sky on the extreme eastern horizon. However, there is also a bit of dampness around this morning although there is still no recorded rainfall here so far apart from a measly 0.2 mm of rain which was recorded at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh during the early hours of this morning with that probably just due to the dampness itself, rather than any actual rainfall.

Apart from that though, the weather is no different here from what it has been like during the previous three mornings (which means that our frost-free horror show goes on) except that most of the hills which even includes Arthur's Seat are protruding into that cloud.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 9am this morning was 6.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 5.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The dross continues. Another vile gloomy frost-free start with a temperature of 7C at dawn and it's just stuck on that all day even though the sun has now come out. I wonder what total Dyce will record for the hour of 11am-12noon. 0 minutes no doubt

Same old weather here yet again, as our latest permacast hell has now entered its 4th day. The gaps in the gaps have all filled in and nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon, yet again.

It is also milder and the temperature at 12 noon was 8.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Dull, misty and drizzly. Last day of sunshine was Christmas Eve. 7.1C.

If we're lucky we might get some sun on Tuesday before the cloudy high topples in yet again.

Yet another dull and depressing day with some very light drizzle around as well. This means that for the fourth day in a row now, nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today yet again in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

This makes now today our 4th completely sunless day of this month, our 4th sunless day of 2019 and the 16th sunless day of this complete non-event which is known as "winter".

Today's maximum temperature was 9.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 8.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Has been mostly dull and overcast but staying dry. Less cold too with a seasonal 7.0 c & 91% h under light winds.

Just as well that it is all being benign as I'm working my way through a couple of doodle commissions so it's not as if I need the distraction anyway.

It's still overcast here and rather misty. There has also been some light rain and drizzle around as well and although this has resulted in just 0.4 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8pm this evening, a total of 1.6 mm of rain has now been recorded for today so far as at 8pm this evening at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh where today will now go down as the first official rain day of 2019 as a result.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 7.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
