Dry but cloudy via a nebulous high cloud type sky, can just about make out the low winter sun. There is also a pinch in the air at 5.5 c & 94% h but winds are being dead calm which I appreciate. Think we appear to be under a slack continental feed thus giving us the "faux" surface cold despite high uppers and the still relatively warm Channel.

At long last, the Sun is finally shining here in the Scottish Borders for the first time since Christmas Eve, but only after yet another frost-free horror show as the temperature once again refused to drop during last night due to there being too much cloud around.

Currently, it is around 8°C here in Hawick.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
