Good morning and a Merry Christmas to all on TWO!

It's a wonderful start to the day here. Calm, clear, with stars twinking in the sky. There's a glittering frost on the ground and it's presently -1.7C, the first air frost in quite a while.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Last night’s frost has almost gone as temp has risen to 3.9c and Rudolph wouldn’t have needed to guide the sleigh here last night, as we didn’t get any fog.  Calm with some patchy light cloud scattering the morning moonlight.

A white Christmas of sorts here with a thick white frost.

Air temp is just above freezing.

It was a sunny dawn an hour ago though some cloud has now rolled in.

A Happy Christmas to all TWOers.

Minimum of +0.9C here but there was patchy fog and quite a white frost overnight.

It's already largely gone though, with increasing wind lifting temp to 4C - still mainly clear.

Merry Christmas to everyone at TWO.

Last night was so promising for seasonal, festive weather and we can technically speaking say that we had an official air frost on Christmas Day as the temperature during the early hours of this morning was still below freezing.

Indeed, it got all the way down to -5°C up at Edinburgh Airport which makes last night, the coldest night of the winter so far there.

By the time that I woke up this morning though, all of the frost had gone as it then clouded over, and the temperature then went up which means that I still can't wake up to a frost here in the Scottish Borders.

Now as far as the weather is concerned, this morning has started on a rather dull, dreary, depressing and soul destroying note with a return to constant grey skies with nothing which is even remotely interesting in terms of our weather actually happening.

Currently, it is around 4°C here in Hawick.

Regardless of what the weather is like though, I will enjoy today anyway, and I hope that everyone else here, does as well.

A white Christmas here with a good overnight frost, although now largely melted.

Up to around 3c now.

A thin layer of cloud is slowly invading from the north after a sunny start.

Happy Christmas!

Just can't understate how horrific this winter has been. Only one frosty morning- the same as in December 2015 but at least then we had some snow as well.

Dry & fair with sunny breaks and partial cloud. Quite mild too at 8.4 c & 77% h under a gentle SW beeeze. No fog or frost observed since it didn't get any lower than 6.5 c at 3.45 am.

All making for a calm and benign festive spell.

Brilliant sunshine. 3.5C after a low earlier this morning of -2.6C.

There's still some frost lingering in the shade of the back garden, but I reckon it'll melt pretty soon.

As far as the weather is concerned, today has just been one massive boring and tedious nothingness with constant grey skies. In Edinburgh, this resulted in nothing in the way of sunshine being recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank making today, the 10th sunless day of this winter there.

In a complete contrast to today, last Christmas Day ended up being our wettest day of last winter, but that at least was far more interesting than the complete borefest which we have had to endure this year.

At the moment, it is currently around 8°C with the temperature already refusing to drop due there being too much cloud around.
