Well, well, well!! I've just woke up to something which I haven't seen here for quite a long time, and that is clear skies with very little in the way of cloud after the overnight rain had cleared away. This makes me hopeful at least, that we should finally get to see the Sun here for the very first time this winter, at long long last.
So far, a total of 0.2 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning, along with 0.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This now makes today, the 16th day in a row which has failed to stay completely dry. However, all of today's total occurred during the first hour after midnight as the overnight rain cleared away.
The temperatures have taken a bit of a late dip under the clear skies which we have just now and although this hasn't been enough to give us any frost, these temperatures were still dropping as I write.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 4.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 3°C at Edinburgh Airport and 2.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
