Conclusion:

Overall, November was a warmer than average month, especially with regards to the minimum temperatures. The warmest part of the month was in the first half of it and even when a spell of easterly winds set in later on, this failed to really produce anything in the way of cold weather. The result of this is that November was a poor month for air frosts with all of them occurring in the latter part of the month.

November was always going to be wetter than average in terms of the number of rain days, especially since the onset of those easterlies later on brought in quite a number of showers from in off the North Sea. Up until a couple of days ago though, it had looked as though November would end up being substantially drier than average in terms of the actual rainfall amounts. However, a very wet end to the month then scuppered all of that and in the end, November ended up being slightly wetter than average in terms of the actual rainfall amounts.

As far as sunshine totals are concerned, it had looked for a long time as though November would end up being substantially sunnier than average with the first completely sunless day not arriving until well into the second half of the month. However, a spell of easterly winds then set in which put paid to all of that and in the end, November ended up being a duller than average month.

Sunless Days: 3

Conclusion:

Overall, the outcomes are the same as what they were for Edinburgh Gogarbank. This means that November was a warmer than average month overall with exactly the same temperature anomaly as for Edinburgh Gogarbank. It was a duller than average month overall, although it was sunnier than what it was at Edinburgh Gogarbank with the overall totals for the month being closer to the long term average.

Finally, it was a wetter than average month both in terms of the actual rainfall amounts and the number of official rain days. Despite the fact that the actual rainfall total was less than what it was at Edinburgh Gogarbank, the difference between that and the long-term average was actually greater, making it a wetter month overall when that is compared with the long-term average. The same is true with the number of official rain days.
