As expected, the Sun has done what it normally does these days after a cloudy start to the day and even though we didn't get the anti-cyclonic gloom which has been reported elsewhere in recent days, today has still brought us a bit more in the way of sunshine anyway, than what we have had at the same stage of other recent days.
This has resulted in a total of 1.9 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon, so today is yet another day which is not going to go down as being completely sunless and so this now brings us one step closer to that increasing inevitable scenario of this month not having a single completely sunless day in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
At the moment, the amount of sunshine which we have had during this month so far, is so far ahead of where we should be at this stage of this month that even if we were to get the odd completely sunless day between now and the end of the month, this is probably not going to matter too much in terms of this month going down in the end, as being sunnier than average overall. For that reason, I'm not going to be anywhere near as bothered if we now started to get the odd completely sunless day, as I would be if this month was running duller than average overall so far.
Today is also a lot cooler than other recent days and although it still isn't all that cold, that easterly wind now has a bit of a chill to it with the temperature currently at around 8°C as at 12 noon.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
