The usual borefest goes on here with yet more overcast skies and nothing at all, actually happening.

The temperature is also continuing to go up as the night goes on, and is now above yesterday's reported maximum value at all three of my local stations.

As at midnight, the temperature had now gone up to 11.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

First of all, I can report that I won't be doing my usual update here at 12 noon today since I have other more important commitments at that time.

Not that there's much to report anyway, that is actually all that interesting.

This morning has started off on a dull and overcast note with some light rain, but this has resulted in a total of just 0.2 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 8am this morning (for both of those stations, that is barely even worth reporting).

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 8.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, but those temperatures were reached quite early during yesterday evening before the temperatures then shot again.

It is now very mild for the time of year and the temperature at 8am this morning was 12.4°C at Edinburgh Airport, 13°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today brought some persistent light to moderate rain during this morning which eventually cleared away during this afternoon. Despite the persistence of that rainfall during this morning though, the amounts of rain which we got from that were fairly small yet again so that today's rainfall total so far as at 4pm this afternoon was 1.8 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank (where today will therefore go down as an official rain day as a result) and 0.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today has also been cloudy for most of the time and yet, the Sun always manages to find a way through at some point during any given day as it did for a short time at around lunchtime. That has resulted in a total of just 12 minutes of sunshine being recorded for the whole of today at Edinburgh Gogarbank and yet, this is still enough to show us yet again that we just don't get completely sunless days here in Edinburgh any more.

It has also been very windy today with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 40.4mph from the SSW.

Today has been a very mild day for the time of year and the maximum temperature was 14.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and a very unseasonably and exceptionally mild 15.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 13.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 14.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Another sunless day with ridiculous temperatures. Max of 13.6C reached after sunset at 4:12pm and it's still 12.1C now

Horrific and tedious in equal measure

Tonight is largely cloudy once again, and very windy with the wind still gusting up to 40.4mph from the SSW at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8pm this evening.

Apart from that, the required data from weathercast.co.uk which I need to properly compile these reports has stopped coming through again, so I can only say that the temperature is still up at around 13°C as at 8pm this evening.
