The Sun has now come out after a cloudy start to the day with a little bit of rain which wasn't even enough to be registered as actual recorded rainfall. Having said that though, it is still mostly cloudy with the Sun actually coming and going since I first submitted this post.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 4.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 3°C at Edinburgh Airport and 3.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as too much cloud resulted in yet another frostless night in what has been a completely frostless month so far, although last night was actually the coolest night at all three of my local stations since the very first night of this month.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 6.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 5.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

While it is clear and quite sunny, there is still that nagging southerly wind making the current 12.9 c & 76% h feel cool and fresh - but it is helping to dry things up quickly after yesterday's 15.2 mm of rain.

This afternoon started off with quite a bit of sunshine before it then clouded over with the rest of the day descending into yet another boring grey and overcast nothingness, with yet more constant grey skies. In the end though, a total of 2.5 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Having said that though, the fact that it has now clouded over means that too much cloud (along with probably a wee bit too much wind as well) means that the temperature is probably going to be refusing to drop during tonight. At the moment, it is around the 10°C mark which is roughly, around the maximum for today.

It's now raining here in Edinburgh as I write.

I am still unable to get all of the data which I need to construct these reports properly, so I am relying on SEPA at the moment for some of the data regarding today's rainfall totals. What I can say though is that a total of 1.2 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far as at 8pm this evening at Edinburgh Gogarbank (where today will therefore go down as an official rain day as a result) along with about 0.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

As I had expected though, too much cloud around means that the temperature is already refusing to drop, and is therefore still at around 9°C as at 8pm this evening.
