Despite a clear night with light winds, the temperature just would not drop here, so I have no idea of what happened there and why that was the case because it seems to me, that this was a night where we should have been getting the same frost which others are reporting on this thread. Yet, I haven't even seen any ground frost here although with clear skies, that has once again taken us into a bright and sunny start to this morning and rather amazingly for these parts, this has now been the case for the last couple of mornings.
I did notice that there has been 0.2 mm of rain which has been recorded for today so far at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh but since the skies were completely clear when that was recorded, that can only be due to condensation rather than actual rainfall.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 2.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 0°C at Edinburgh Airport (that happened only briefly at 11pm last night before the temperature then went back up again) and 2.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 4.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 2°C at Edinburgh Airport and 3.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
