More in the way of cloud during the early hours of this morning prevented the temperature from dropping as low as it did on the previous night. However, the Sun is now shining once again here in Edinburgh with only small amounts of cloud around, although the wind has picked up a bit.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 4.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 3°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 9am this morning was 9.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Some decent sunny spells during this morning have resulted in a total of 54 minutes of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon. However, it is now much cloudier and also windy with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank up to 29.8mph from the SW as at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 11.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

This afternoon has been mostly overcast and a total of just exactly an hour of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon. There is also some very light drizzle which is making it rather damp, although this is barely enough to wet the ground.

Today's maximum temperature was 11.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 11.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The day has ended with clearer skies which in the end, resulted in a total of 1.5 hours of sunshine being recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

The temperatures are also dropping quite nicely under those clear skies, so the temperature at 8pm this evening was 8.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
