Bright and still mild at 18.3 C under dead calm air.

My rain gauge is reading 0.0 mm since 12 am which means the showery rain has been missing my location last night (Folkestone Rain Deflector being efficient), just slightly moist from yesterday evening's 1.8 mm of drizzle.

It seems that every time we get close to a frost here, that is then taken away from us as it then clouds over. That is exactly what has just happened yet again, and the result of this is that we now have yet another cloudy start to yet another day with yet more constant grey skies.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 2.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 2°C at Edinburgh Airport and 3.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 9am this morning was 4.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 5°C at Edinburgh Airport and 5.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The Sun has now broken through a lot more during the course of this morning and so, a total of exactly an hour of sunshine has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

In addition to that, it is also slightly warmer than what it was at this time yesterday and so, the temperature at 12 noon was 10.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

A completely sunny afternoon so far means that a total of 5.0 hours of sunshine has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon.

In addition to that, it is also turning out to be a little bit warmer than what it was forecast to be by the BBC (aka Metogroup), so the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 14.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Still fine and feeling warm at 18.8 c & 84% h. The setting sun beaming into my famed west-facing hobby room is heating it up to 27 c indoors with no central heating on at all and have windows open to let fresh air circulate through the house.

A completely sunny end to the day led to a total of 7.1 hours of sunshine being recorded for today in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank with the temperatures now falling away after sunset.

Today's maximum temperature was 14.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 6.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Only reached 10C here today but with little wind it felt OK with a few brighter spells.

Minimum was +0.7C but that was early in the night.
