A fairly misty/hazy morning here in Edinburgh. There is some cloud around, but also an increasing amount of clear sky which means that we should eventually be able to get a bit of sunshine during this morning.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 12.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 14.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Mainly sunny but rather windy courtesy of a brisk southerly wind and thus the current 18.8 c is feeling fresh for it (much better air quality as it has been poor of late). Only had 0.4 mm from an overnight shower which has instantly evaporated.

The Sun did make a brief appearance during this morning, but it wasn't long before those breaks filled in, thus returning us to yet another boring dull and overcast nothingness and yet more constant grey skies. The result of this being that nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

At the same time though, it is still too warm for my liking and so, the temperature at 12 noon was 16.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

There has been some brief periods of sunshine during the early part of this afternoon (in this part of the world, the Sun always manages to find a way through in the end) and so, a total of 36 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon. Apart from that though, it is still mostly cloudy which means that the complete borefest which we have had to endure for most of the time during recent months goes on.

Today's maximum temperature so far today is 18.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18°C at Edinburgh Airport and 18.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 17.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17°C at Edinburgh Airport and 17.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

It's now raining here in Edinburgh as I write.

In the end, the rather dismal total of just 42 minutes of sunshine was recorded for the whole of today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

So far, a total of 0.8 mm of rain has been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8pm this evening, but with nothing at all in that department at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh although that situation is bound to change very soon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 12.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh so that it has cooled down by quite a bit from earlier on and from the same time last night, although it is still mild for this time of year just now.
