Max 23.6 c here today, even warmer nearby at nearest met office site at Bridgefoot. Truly remarkable weather for October, wouldn't surprise me if today's been the warmest October day ever around here.

Warm and still here. Haze which tastes and smells of exhaust fumes. Yuk.

Solar is only worth it if your roof has toenail fungus.

Following a completely sunny end to the day, a total of 8.3 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

The wind has now picked up a bit once again, although it's not as windy as what it has been recently.

Once again though, the temperatures are refusing to drop and it's now got a bit too warm for my liking, so the sooner that we get back to some cooler and proper autumn weather (hopefully with some seasonable frosts), the better that it will be for me.

On that note, the temperature at 8pm this evening was still up at 18.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18°C at Edinburgh Airport and 17.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
