In complete contrast to yesterday's lovely sunshine, today has started off on a dark, damp and depressing note with a return to our more typical constant grey skies and the usual borefest.
We never seem to get properly wet days here any more in this part of the world which means that we never get wetter than average months here now (as has been the case from May onwards).
That has been shown once again by the fact that the only recorded "rainfall" for today (if you can even call it that) so far as at 8am this morning, has amounted to just 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and nothing at all at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 7.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 9.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
