Dry and clear, but the temperatures are still refusing to drop as a result of there being too much wind.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 8.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

In complete contrast to yesterday's lovely sunshine, today has started off on a dark, damp and depressing note with a return to our more typical constant grey skies and the usual borefest.

We never seem to get properly wet days here any more in this part of the world which means that we never get wetter than average months here now (as has been the case from May onwards).

That has been shown once again by the fact that the only recorded "rainfall" for today (if you can even call it that) so far as at 8am this morning, has amounted to just 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and nothing at all at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 7.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 9.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Not much has changed from earlier on today.

It's a bit drier than what it was this morning, but nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 12.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

There's still a lot of cloud around here and in the end, a total of just 1.1 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank with nothing at all since 4pm this afternoon. That is very disappointing indeed when you consider how sunny it was yesterday.

Today's maximum temperature was 14.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 13.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Another day that hit high on the scales of both unpleasant and useless. Rained practically all morning to produce a grand total of 0.4mm

Very little sun even once the drizzly muck had cleared and a below average max of 12.8C. Now down to 7.7C under clear skies when the min was forecast at a totally unacceptable 10C.
