Overcast as usual here in Edinburgh. The streets are a bit wet which is indicative of the fact that there has been some recent rain or drizzle around, but this still comes not even close to breaking the complete borefest which we are continuing to see in this part of the world as that has resulted in just 0.2 mm of rain being recorded at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, and nothing at all at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Although just another 0.3 mm of rain is needed to make this month wetter than average at Edinburgh Gogarbank and although this has been the case for quite a while now, the lack of any measurable rainfall at Edinburgh Gogarbank from what I have seen tonight has probably now, killed off any chance of this month being anything other than drier than average at that particular station given tomorrow's forecast.

The night has been quite windy as well with maximum gusts of up to 33.6mph from the SW at Edinburgh Gogarbank, although the wind appears to have died away a bit as that patchy rain has cleared away.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 10.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

After 4 weeks of strong sun and cloudless skies, no wind and 30 C + maximums, Edinburgh is a shock this morning. Windy and 9 C, a lot of cloud but patches of blue!

No shorts and bare top today 😂

Nothing to report here which is all that much different from the complete borefest which I have been reporting here until now.

The Sun is coming out at times here, but a total of just 1.3 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

There was also just a further 0.2 mm of rain recorded at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh during the early hours of this morning froma weak cold front which moved through then but once again, this has produced nothing at all at Edinburgh Gogarbank. Today has since seen the odd very brief passing shower which as per usual, has come to nothing.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 7.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 11.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

16°C and mostly cloudy, but bright, with light winds. Smells of autumn: yellow-leafy-barky.

This afternoon and early evening brought some decent amounts of sunshine at times and in the end, a total of 6.4 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank although this has now come too late to prevent this month from going down as being duller than average at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

There has been an odd passing shower but in the end, this has resulted in just a further 0.2 mm of rain being recorded at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh during this afternoon and nothing at all at Edinburgh Gogarbank which in the end, never did get that final 0.3 mm of rain which it had been waiting for, for quite a while in order to take this month's total there up to above the 1981-2010 average for that station.

Today's maximum temperature was 12.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Despite the fact that it has now clouded over a bit, the temperature at 8pm this evening had dropped to 9.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
