Cloudy and very windy.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 13.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 14.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so it's a lot milder than of late which might not even be very comfortable for trying to sleep.

The Sun is shining here in Edinburgh just now, but today has been mostly cloudy and windy with the wind still gusting up to 36.6mph from the WSW at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

There was also a little bit of rain during the early hours of this morning with that amounting to 1.4 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank (where today will go down as yet another official rain day as a result), but along with just 0.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Last night's minimum overnight temperature was 12.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 16.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17°C at Edinburgh Airport and 17.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so it's already rather warm out there for this time of the year.

The clouds have now broken up a bit more to allow us to see a bit more in the way of sunshine, but the rather measly total of just 6 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for the whole of today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon.

Today's maximum temperature so far has been 17.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18°C at Edinburgh Airport and 18.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 16.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17°C at Edinburgh Airport and 17.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Reached 21.3C but it was a totally crap day of cloudy humid dirge. Very little sun and even drizzly rain in the afternoon

Would have been an exceptionally warm day for the time of year had we got the sunshine that we used to see from this type of set-up.

Alas these days every time it’s sunny there is a nagging wind and anytime there’s warm air, ridiculous amounts of humid cloud so it never feels remotely pleasant outside of high summer when the sun is strong enough to overcome the breeze

Today has ended on an uninspiring note here as it has ended with the usual constant grey skies and some drizzle to go with that so in the end, the really abysmal total of just 12 minutes of sunshine was recorded for the whole of day at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

That drizzle has brought today's rainfall total so far as well to 2.0 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank, but to just 0.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 15.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
