Rather cloudy and still quite windy.

In the end, a total of 2.2 mm of rain fell at Edinburgh Gogarbank during yesterday, along with 1.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 11.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Here in Edinburgh, we have a bright and sunny morning for a change with a total of 42 minutes of sunshine having been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 10.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 10.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Gone a bit "m'eh" now with overcast skies, dampness  (2.0 mm so far this morning) and a more "seasonal" 14.2 C as the weak cold front slowly traverses over us.

Hopefully the brightness and warmth may make a return appearance tomorrow.

There is a bit more in the way of cloud around now, and even the odd passing shower. So far though, that hasn't come to anything and there are still some decent spells around with a total of 3.8 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 14.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The Sun is shining just now and a total of 6.0 hours of sunshine has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon.

There has however, been a few passing showers which haven't really come to much. These have resulted in a total 0.4 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm this afternoon, but without anything all being recorded at the botanic gardens in terms of rainfall.

Today's maximum temperature was 14.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 12.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 13.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The rest of today has brought a further mixture of sunny spells and some light passing showers and in the end, a total of 8.3 hours of sunshine was recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank which makes today, the sunniest day of both this month and autumn so far.

Those showers have brought today's rainfall total at Edinburgh Gogarbank up to 0.8 mm as at 8pm this evening, but there still isn't anything in that department being recorded for today so far at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was 10.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so tonight is a bit cooler than of late.
