I thought I'd start this thread as I had a storm last night, but I don't think there will be many of these this month.
Had quite a lively thunderstorm over Lowestoft last night that was not forecast (only showers were forecast). There were quite frequent lightning flashes and loud rumbles, lasting about half an hour before becoming sporadic and faded away. Most likely a high base type (from Ac cas clouds).
Not surprising as warm, humid air from Europe tried to push NW'wards forming a trough which later retreated away to the NE.
