Still cloudy here in Edinburgh as usual but for once, it's not actually raining (for the moment, at least).

In the end, a total of 4.0 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank, along with 7.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 10.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

A much better morning than yesterday, though still not perfect by any means.

Indeed, there is some fairly dense patchy fog around around this morning and although the Sun is managing to break through that at times, nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

It is quite a cool morning morning and the temperatures have still not yet finished dropping away.

Therefore, the temperature at 8am this morning was 8.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The dismal start to September continues with another depressingly sunless morning. Temp of 10.3C.

This hideous rubbish is the perfect example of permacast hell. The muck moved through and cleared the Highlands overnight on Sunday but it just gets stuck here and won't shift.

The mist and fog from earlier on cleared away quickly to leave a mostly completely sunny morning with a total of 2.9 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

This morning's minimum temperature was 8.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

However, it is now feeling quite warm in the sunshine and so, the temperature at 12 noon was 14.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
