Well, would you believe it?

The skies cleared altogether during the night which allowed us to see quite a good view of the Moon.

Then just as sunrise approached, it clouded over again and the result of this once again is that nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 11.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 13.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Awful yet again. 15.1C and stuck under cloud while immediately to the north are clear skies and sunshine

As depressing a run of weekends as I've ever endured at any time of year.

After a mostly cloudy morning, the clouds are breaking up a bit more to allow more in the way of sunshine through although a total of just 24 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

It's also rather breezy but for now, there is nothing very autumnal about the weather at the moment at least in terms of the temperatures. Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 19.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 20°C at Edinburgh Airport and 20.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Another summer-like day with fine clear skies and unbroken sunshine.

21.3 C and a drying 52% H, although there is something of a refreshing south east breeze coming in from the Strait of Dover.

Sunny, 22 c. I see it is currently 26C at Lossiemouth so a warm day for the East of Scotland apart from Aberdeen probably.

24 degrees, wind a light Easterly, in a cloudless sky. An utterly glorious late summers day. It's been a great summer in this part of the world.

22.5°C and brilliantly blue; the breeze is light and is now most certainly from the east, but despite how early it is in September, this seems to be capping the temperatures.
