Some high cloud around at times, but some good sunny spells as well with a total of 42 minutes of sunshine having been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Not a bad day at all, decent bright spells and variable cloud with the current 19.6 C & 71% H feeling pleasantly warm in generally light winds.

A vast improvement on yesterday, that's for sure.

This afternoon has brought about a lot of cloud and only the odd glimpse of the Sun, so a total of just 3.7 hours of sunshine was recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon.

Today's maximum temperature was 16.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which is slightly cooler than today, and rather disappointing for this time of year.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 14.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

After that pleasantly fair morning, it went all overcast with convective infill in the afternoon and even is now thick enough to give off light rain (0.6 mm so far).
