Here near the centre of the wrap-around trough the low cloud is clearing with sunny intervals. Feeling warm and humid, no doubt the showers will brew this morning and afternoon. 20c, dp 17c.

Cloud/fog level now down to 70 metres above sea level so my neighbourhood is now in fog. Lights and heating are on like yesterday. Constant drizzle is now getting heavier. 15 C seems to be the max

A slow moving "tropical"-like shower has just crept over Folkestone this afternoon, thus totted up today's total to 17 mm which my lawn is appreciating very much and we might have one or two more showers later on today to bring today's total to 20 mm. We had 30 mm last week so we've now reached the average for August. Sadly, it does prove that the third month of the Summer always put the spanner in the works and thus it means this Summer of 2018 will never be a 1976 beater.

The sun is out and is feeling tropical-like with the 20.6 C & 90% H producing a DP of 19 C with very little wind.

What was your peak rain rate ?

Quite incredibly here in the north of Folkestone just a mile from you we missed that and received 1mm while other areas notched up 10-12mm in 5 mins. Total today stands at 6.8mm here.
