Non stop rain all day so far - Must be the first full day of rain for at least 4 months.

Temp sits at.15.1C and it's chucking it down. But it's not cold and I've been outside in it in my shorts at work. Rain today 8mm.

Today will be our first day since the 21st of June to have a max below 20C. I am not happy about it.

It has been raining here all morning, moderate but persistent - just what we need.  Temperature is pleasantly fresh.  What a welcome relief from the heat of recent weeks.

Feels and looks better than the overcast 26C gunk we had a few weeks ago.

We may well be in a cooler and fresher air mass now, but the actual weather just now has more or less gone back to what it has been like for most of this summer.

This afternoon has been mostly sunny with only a small amount of fair weather cloud around, and that has resulted in a total of 7.8 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon which also makes today, our sunniest day of this month so far by quite a long way.

In addition to that, it is also dry yet again and with the way that this is going just now, we continue to be on course for this month to be substantially drier than average in the end with so little rain having fallen during the last week or so, despite the poor forecast for this coming weekend.

The temperature isn't at the dizzy heights of where it was a few days ago. However, It is slightly warmer than yesterday. It still isn't any cooler than average for the time of year in this part of the world and the temperature still hasn't even peaked for today just yet.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 18.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18°C at Edinburgh Airport and 19.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

After our sunny evening, clear skies after sunset are allowing the temperatures to drop away once again and so, the temperature at 9pm this evening was 14.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 14.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
