Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 8.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, an unseasonably chilly 5°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh so last night was the coolest night of this month so far, which follows on from yesterday being the coolest day of this month so far.

We seem to have been on the sunny side for most of the day so far with cloud just to our east. Sunny and blue now with some little clouds. 21C

Yet, five short days ago it was 30 C under blazing sunshine and calm winds.

My Sister just sent me a photo of quite a long funnel cloud extending from the base of a Cumulonimbus cloud, passing over Macclesfield.
