Last night's fall of light rain produced nothing in the end, other than 0.2 mm of recorded rainfall at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and nothing at all at Edinburgh Gogarbank which is now into its fourth day of yet another dry spell.

This morning has been most cloudy with a little bit of sunshine at times, although just 18 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night was rather warm and sticky, and last night's overnight minimum temperature was 15.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 16.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16°C at Edinburgh Airport and 17.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

A cloudy morning here at Cumbernauld following a night of light rain. 14c.

The weather here in Scotland the last couple of days has been very reasonable.

Edinburgh was mainly sunny on Saturday 22c

Loch Lomond yesterday was bright and dry and 20c.

A slight humid feel too with light winds made for a pleasant experience.

The Sun was briefly shining whilst I was out and about, but we have seen very little of the Sun yet again as has been the norm for this month so far and now, the day has descended into yet another boring, depressing and soul destroying grey nothingness as the August permacast is back underway. The result of all of this is that a total of just half an hour of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

Meanwhile,the temperature at 12 noon was 18.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 19°C at Edinburgh Airport and 19.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
