Windy but dry with clear skies after this evening's rain had cleared away to the NW.

A total of 13.2 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 8.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which makes yesterday the second wettest day of this month so far at both of those stations.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 12.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 13.0ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Revolting, absolutely pelting down here. Looking at the radar it seems to be moving through pretty fast though so I am hopeful for a drier afternoon.

This morning started off on a very promising note as we had a bright and sunny start to the morning with a total of 1.5 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

However, the weather is now rapidly going downhill as it has very quickly clouded over, thus heralding the start of another permacast hell with more constant grey skies.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 10.7ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 11.2ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 13.6ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 14.0ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Whilst everyone else has been getting some much needed rain during this morning, we have been stuck with a boring old grey nothingness during this morning with constant grey skies and nothing much happening as our permacast hell goes on.

However, I can now report that the rain has now finally just reached here in the last wee while.

The end result of all of this is that a total of just 1.5 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon, but with nothing at all in that department since 8am this morning.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 16.7ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 17.0ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh with it continuing to feel nothing like summer.
