28c much cloudier than forecast, in fact mostly cloudy all day...it may not be the end of this spell or summer, but it does feel like the beginning of the end.

It stayed sunny until mid morning and then it got cloudy and quite grey. The sun keeps breaking through now and the clouds have thinned. 23.4c

This Sun has come through quite nicely during this afternoon and as at 5pm this afternoon, a total of 4.2 hours of sunshine had been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

That has also given the temperatures a bit of a late boost and although it is still cooler than what it was yesterday, the temperatures haven't yet peaked for today, so the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 20.5ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 19ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 18.0ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Wall to wall sunshine all day here with 26 degrees being recorded. However the strong and gusty NE wind is a pain.

I was on the Isle if Man today - first visit. Beautiful blue sky and sea, parched yellow fields, looked weirdly like Northern California and I half expected to see Monterey seals on the beach.

Back to Gatwick and it’s still humid - no cold front passed yet.

At one point in time, it had looked as though this evening would end up being completely sunny until that was scuppered by some more cloud which built up later on. In the end though, a total of 7.5 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank although that once again, makes today the second dullest day of this month so far.

Today's maximum temperature was 20.5ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 19ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 18.6ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so today was a cooler day than of late at all three of my local stations.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm tonight was 16.1ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 15.5ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
