Done It Again!! (once again, I have managed to fall asleep instead of being able to start this thread on time).

Anyway, it's dry but overcast here in Edinburgh just now, and it's a bit cooler than of late as well.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 3am this morning was 14.6ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 14.8ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Yesterday showed us once again that getting two completely sunny starts to a day in a row is always going to asking too much during this summer in this part of the world.

Now today, normal service really has been resumed as today has started off on a soul destroying and depressing note. Once again, we are in yet another a grey and overcast nothingness just now with yet another permacast hell to start off yet another day.

The end result of this is that there has been nothing at all in the way of sunshine which has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank, as at 8am this morning.

Last night was cooler than the previous night, but not by all that much as the overnight minimum temperature was 14.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 13.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 14.4ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 13.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Another very warm morning in SE London. I’m sitting on the tarmac at city airport (not literally), and it looks and feels like we’re at a Mediterranean holiday airport.

Won’t get so hot later due to the cloud on its way from the NE.

Warm until after midnight but about dawn fog rolled in and now we have low clod and a little drizzle at 15C - feels lovely after the past few days.

Lots of cloud about but unlike the earlier overcast conditions it's now rather bright with a few breaks, and it's 21.5C so still pleasant.

Here in Edinburgh, the July permacast is still ongoing as this morning has brought nothing but constant grey skies with nothing in the way of sunshine having been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

There was even a little bit of very light drizzle in the air for a while this morning, although this wasn't even enough to dampen the ground, let alone give us our first recorded rainfall of this month or end the current official absolute drought which is now, into its 19th day.

With the wind coming from the NE as well, the temperatures have been refusing to rise during the day and were not even all that different at 12 noon from what they were at midnight.

The temperature at 12 noon was 15.4ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15ºC at Edinburgh Airport and just a rather dismal 14.2ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which is just over 10ºC cooler than yesterday's maximum temperature there (clearly, that isn't going to be happening today).

Nevertheless, I have visited Newcastle before and when I was there, I also took in Gateshead on the other side of the Tyne from Newcastle. It is quite a good place to visit and although it is in England, it is still close enough to where I live here in Edinburgh, for me to have been able to go there for a day trip without any need for any overnight stays somewhere else. Furthermore, I have also travelled through there on a number of occasions in the past when I have travelling by train to somewhere further south such as London.

Anyway, just as I submitted my last post on this thread, some bits of blue sky appeared and now, the Sun has started to break though with 12 minutes of sunshine having now been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 1pm this afternoon.

Fair and bright with hazy sunshine via extensive cirrostratus.

A respectably warm 24.2 C with 67% H with something of a breeze coming from somewhere.

It's now so dry that even the weedy bits on my totally dead lawn are starting to wilt. Typical it's got like this after having spent the best part of £350 on new gardening equipment recently (replacement petrol mower and strimmer).
