I fell asleep after drowning my sorrows after a certain football game and inadvertently, didn't get round to starting today's thread, so here it is.

Here, it's dry and fairly cloudy just now with a temperature of 17.9ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 18.1ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 1am this morning.

2.25am it's 22.1C

The last 40 minutes have only seen a 0.1C drop so gong on that I'm expecting another warm one.

Edit: Just checked met and a low of 20C is expected.

The pattern here seems to be rapid warming by mid-morning then wind picks up markedly, usually from NE -  putting a cap on it before 25C is reached.

I'm still trying to sober up and am not feeling great after yesterday's events, so forgive me if this doesn't come across all that well.

Anyway, the Sun is shining here in Edinburgh just now, but it is also mostly cloudy with just 18 minutes of sunshine having been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night was very warm and sticky here which made it too warm for me to even able to sleep under covers, so I didn't get that great a sleep. Not surprising when you consider that last night's minimum temperature was 16.8ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 17.1ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which makes last night, the warmest night of the year so far by quite a fair distance at all three of my local stations.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 18.8ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 19ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 19.8ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Now, I'm about to lie down once again so that I can hopefully, feel a bit better later on.
