The temperature at this station for the past week has been as follows:

Yesterdays official hot spot was just down the road from here.

Though it's humid I was expecting much more humid conditions as currently the dew point's are similar to recent days - 16C/17C.

Porthmadog now at 30.7C

Yes it is a known hotspot in the right conditions, especially when the winds are coming from the east. It is completely sheltered from easterly winds.

Looking back at the 2017 records I can see that Porthmadog was the warmest place in the UK on the following dates:

30 Jan, 23 Mar, 24 Mar, 4 May, 11 May

In the hot summer months it tends to get beaten by places in the south east. But this year the wind direction has been less favourable for south-eastern areas and west has often been best.

I was about to say Farnborough is top of the charts with 29.5C at 1pm, but Porthmadog isn’t on that list. Beaten again!

All of the UK's climate is a bit sh1t. Whenever anyone from the UK tries to claim that their climate is better than another part of the country, it's just one person claiming their turd smells better. That's just the way it is. 

I mean, come on - we are going gaga over weather conditions that in most parts of the world is just normal summer weather. Kind of tells you everything.

A sea breeze appears to have kicked in at Porthmadog as the temperature has dropped away. But it may come back again as that happened yesterday.

Lots of places around Hampshire and Surrey are close to 29C at 1300. Otterbourne was at 28.9C.

Top of the shop at 1pm appears to be Hampton Water Works with 30.3C

I have recorded 31.1C in the past hour which is the first 30C of the year for me

Peaked at 29.9 C at 3.15 pm, just a whisker short of 30 C, now a more modest 29.6 with 40% H and skies are more hazy/milky looking than of late.

Either or, we certainly are deep in hideously swampy genitalia territory.

Dublin Airport's June total came in at just 4.8mm, which came on the back of a very dry May there, which saw just 19.1 for the whole of that month at the station. 

Not sure about you Ian but it didnt feel that hot to me, I'd of said more 24/25*c ...I hate to think how hot it would of been without the breeze!
