I’m visiting the UK for the first time, what is the weather like? The UK is surrounded by sea and this has a moderating influence on the temperatures here. Rainfall can be expected at any time of the year, but in general terms western areas are generally wetter than eastern areas. Northern areas of the UK are generally colder than southern areas. In summer southern parts can expect daily maximum temperatures to reach 22C. In winter southern areas can expect average daily maximum temperatures of approximately +7C. Northern areas are usually couple of degrees Celsius colder.
