More like a "useful" win for Liverpool given they need the points and Bolton had just as many opportunities to take the points from a pretty poor game. Nothing inspiring from them at all today, but onwards and upwards for Liverpool anyway, sitting further up the scrap of 12 clubs at the bottom of the Premiership than they were at the start of play today.......not much more to say really about the non functioning unit.

Yes a less than average performance but 3 away points for Liverpool, a defeat to Chelsea next week and they could well be back in the relegation battle.

Newcastle 5-0 up at home to Sunderland, Steve Bruce doesnt look very happy.
Bit of a shock IMO

Sunderland were so awful they made Newcastle look like Barca.
Not to rub it in (I quite like Sunderland) but it really does say a lot when you hear 'Ole, ole, ole' coming from the stands at Sid James Park.

Liverpool hire Comolli. Not sure what to make of this. Comolli's signings were mostly good - at least the ones' he's always claimed credit for.
Yet it ultimately proved a disaster because Levy would largely sign-off Comolli's recommendations, bypassing Martin Jol in the process. The whole model of manager 'working alongside' (joke, joke) a director of football was nothing more than Continental tosh and was rightly binned after the hapless Ramos was sacked. It may work at Liverpool if Woy is prepared to have his bottom owned and be marginalised. Of course they may have other ideas for Woy, such as sacking him, perhaps to be replaced by a symbolically important appointment malleable stooge.
In any event, Mr 666 has his work cut out for him, if one works on the basis that Pepe and Torres bugger off. So that's probably nine new players Liverpool need. Good luck.

Is it a blow because it's not as bad as first hoped for thought?
Van Persie has been called up for the Dutch squad to play Turkey on November 17th. Wenger is surprised and so am I.

No doubt that he will probably end up getting injured again and end up missing another few months.

That is effing menta, if Wenger lets him go he needs the boot, he needs to play the same game that SAF does and say he has a virus and keep him at home
SWP, currently on 60K a week, looking for around 100K a week. Bale on 30K a week, reportedly will be offered 50K a week and a contract extension. So basically Bale is half the worth of SWP, although he's twice the midget's size.
The lad needs to be eased back into games...the Dutch aquad is strong enough without him. Wenger should keep him at the emirates.

Totally agree, as I said in an earlier post, AW should take the SAF approach
Yes, well we're still paying for Dawson and Defoe's injuries. As for Van Persie, you're right, Arsenal should tell the Dutch to bugger off.
Personally I think that there should be a review of the rules for releasing players for the national sides when they are only just recovering from injury. Maybe it should be at the discretion of the club manager in this instance, rather than the national managers right.
You've got to laugh if this story is true. A player seemingly concerned about where the club is going while at the same time having been among the most vocal in their criticism of Shrek's claim Utd lack ambition.

Not the most reliable source tho may have some truth.... that would leave a gaping hole in Man Us left hand side. Anyone know of any decent attacking players who could play LB...?
Wayne Bridge may become available.
Was thinking of Konchesky but realised he left Fulham to join the Premier elite that is Liverpool !!
I always thought it was an odd move on his part - a step down, career wise.
a step down, career wise.
But probably a step up, bank balance wise
Hargreaves starts for Man U today........assuming he doesn't get injured in the warm-up

Spurs 4-2 down away at Bolton, just shows what a tough league the prem is
Dreadful performance - no conviction, flat, until the last 15 mins or so. Nasty challenge by Huddlestone, which he got away with.
Looking forward to the day when we can play our strongest team. Even with 5 of the first team out we should have won this game.
