Have to admit I don't feel confident about England's chances but I never was watching Chelsea all last season

Czech Republic v Portugal is a tricky one to call imo, Never know what Cxech side will turn up gotta think the Germans will get through but this Tournament is throwing a few suprises but I think Germany will see it through, Spain won't have it easy if France turn up and attack the Spanish defence and not sit off.

Before the Tournament started I worked out the results and came up with a German v Spain Final and I still think it's on course for that hopefully I'm wrong though.

In many ways you're right. Woy's limitations as a manager are a perfect match for England's limitations as a team.

God forbid; much as I detest the little midget twat, England really do need a Wilshere in midfield. Hopefully, when he comes back from injury England will improve. Ditto Walker, although I still think Woy has a bias towards Johnson.

Now will be the interesting part of Roy's tactics will he switch from the 442 and pack out the midfield with a 451 against the Italians?

The problem Hodgson faces is if he changes an unbeaten run now and goes 451 for the next game and we lose he will get slaughtered.

Seems to be the strategy and it is so far working.  Eng are not the most talented side in this tournament, far from it, but they seem to be playing to their strengths and  winning ugly (like Chelsea!)

Yep and if we win the competition deep down the majority of people won't give a flying f**k how we won it, there will still be the maoners on forums like this though.

 I've seen plenty of good teams/squads not win a Europan Competition.

I'm not anti Rooney but for me he didn't have a good game but that'll be forgotten by many because of the tap in. Interesting that Wellbeck didn't look like he has done in the previous games.

As for the result I am Happy BUT a stated earlier in this Thread WIN OR LOSE I will always support my country and NOT act a prat because of a Manager and the Squad he picks. Just like I will always watch England if I can.

The biggest difference here is alot of the moaners claimed they wouldn't be watching England Games, yet have alot of opinion on them now. not aimed at you of course during the France game because as you stated you was doing your Accounts and atleast you listened to the game on the Radio.

Wonder if Pratini will be so 'non!' about goal line technology from here on in. Pity France didn't get a draw so the disallowed 'goal' would have really mattered, costing France the group win.

Rugged performance from Engalnd, but we made Ukraine look a far better side than they are. Terry was outstanding, Gerrard had his best game in an England shirt for some time (he was everywhere tonight), the two Ashleys went well and Scotty did what he's good at.

England is very proud of you :-P

Remarkable how lack of expectation and pressure can enhance ones enjoyment. Even when Ukraine had us under pressure (about 80 mins of the game) at no stage did I feel anxious. Thoroughly enjoyed it, far more than I have any tournament since Mexico 1986 I think.

Hodgson has done a brilliant job so far with this average team 10 out of 10. Gerrard was fantastic yet again as well.

We can definitely beat Italy if we keep defending like we have done, have to try and keep the ball a bit better though.

All in all though I have rarely seen England play better in a tournament hats off to Roy great stuff!!!!

O/T but for me Euro 96 will take some beating. Yes, there was expectation, but the side largely lived up to it.

I felt the same during all of Chelsea's Games in the Champions League after the away leg in Napoli

I got a little nervous during the Sweden game when we went 2-1 down I gotta admit but I did feel we could get a goal and was think even if it went 2-2 a point might do us if we can then beat Ukraine.

Am I right in saying that if England had of got Spain we could of avoided the German's till the Final if we got past Spain?

This tournament has been marked by weird results and turnaround. Look at Holland. Look at the Russia group. There have been some bizarre results and scenarios that have happened.

I don't think anyone has said this yet, but it's also worth saying this was a more than decent Ukraine side with massive home advantage. A side that I honestly believe could have gone much further.

Looking at the highlights Sweden have battered France, again shows how well we have played in this group.

Every team that plays England seems to be poor. I can see France beating Spain.

Yes but Sweden were playing for pride and France were pretty well through, their game was later and they would have known the result.

I know its a stretch, but I thought that Sweden would win, because they had to.
