Lots of places have recorded rises that quick. Don't think the rise that quick means its necessarily faulty

Holding steady at 35.6C here. The strong southerly hot wind is really odd.

Slowly and steadily creeping up again. 37.3C 12.40 pm. Clear skies, moderate southerly breeze. 2 degrees up on same time yesterday - not ruling out 40C yet.

Any ideas when Brogdale reports it's maxes, from memory it's the following morning? Could be one to watch.

All the readings in this region (Hawarden, Liverpool Airport, Crosby [official Met Office], RAF Woodvale, Manchester Airport) reporting 35c.

I think most will inch up to 36/37c by 2/3pm then begin to fall away.

Looking at RAF Vally on Angelsey, it reached 31c yesterday. Currently 21c. Caernarfon (33 yesterday) 26c.

Think the Welsh record will go again, plus those of Liverpool & Manchester.

The big 40 has been reached, a milestone we thought we still wouldn't see for some years. Incredible.
