Reading doing quite well last few days: 11th-15th 4.9 4.1 3.8 4.8 5.2
Camborne has an impressive 6.0 yesterday (The Winchester area barely managed a few glimmers of sun yesterday!)
Retire while you can still press the 'retire now' button.
5.2 again in Reading on 16th, with readings since between 4 and 5 daily.
5 forecast for today despite cloud, with 6s in the Channel Islands.
Amazingly, 5s are forecast right up through the UK as far as Aberdeenshire (Banff, for example). Shows how latitudinally small the nation is on a World scale.
Leeds had 5.2 today, but had 5.4 on 14th.
I should pay more attention to stations other than in the far South.
Fixed.
6.1 in Reading both 5th and 6th.
Not exceptional- there was an early 7 in the south in 2018.
6.7, 6.2 and 6.8 in Reading on 8th, 9th and 10th.
Last 3 days: 7.0 6.6 7.0 (Reading)
7.0 on 17th and 19th at Reading. 7.2 on 21st and 22nd.
We've got an 8 forecast locally for Friday, MetO
Actually reached 7.4 today in Reading but to be fair the MetO downgraded that 8 to a 7 yesterday in its forecast.
Not often that you see 7s forecast for the far north of the Scottish mainland.
As you would expect, plenty of 8s down here. Not that they're the first to appear, as Bertie beat me to it this year!

No 8s in Reading or Chilton recorded yet, although Chilton got close on 22/5 and Camborne just managed one on the same day.
Nothing recently spectacular in most stations but Camborne made 8.8 today. Bravo.
4th consecutive day above 7 in Reading today, with 8s forecast on 3 of the next 4 days locally, and as far N as the Midlands.
I am imagining data is being supressed, challenged or adjusted. Widely 8s forecast in the S today & yesterday.
Burn & tan speed outside seemed remarkable at school.
No Camborne data for the two days, or Chilton, and Reading delayed today.
Wonder if a June 2000 event has occurred.
9.4 yesterday and 10.3 today.
Something's afoot with the Swansea data.
Reading last 3 days: 8.3 8.0 8.1
Chilton and Camborne both had 9.0 on 7th.
Camborne 8.8 and 8.6 after.
Impressively, Glasgow managed 8.0 on 22/6 and Lerwick 7.0 on the same day- not necessarily the first place that comes to mind when you think about serious sunburn.
Malin Head 8.2 on 22nd.
UV levels not that impressive since last post.
From 11/7 to 22nd Reading was posting:
7.5 6.1 7.9 7.3 7.5 7.0 6.8 6.5 6.7 5.5 5.8 2.9 Then no data since 23rd.
Chilton from 23rd:
7.8 7.8 5.1 6.6 5.3 5.8 6.7 6.4 7.3 7.0 6.6 6.0 6.2
Reading reached 6.1 on 23rd.
I realise this thread is a bit of a high street shop so I'll let it go for now.
4 days of factor 3 forecast by MetO starting tomorrow. Late for a rash of 3s. Top up on VitD before the big dark.
Here, sun's angle now just short of 20 degrees.
a poor year really with even the August heatwave hitting just 5s and about 6.
First 2 last year: 17/2
First 3 17/3
First 4 26/3
First 5 10/4 (not bad to this point)
First 6 5/5
First 7 17/5
Then poor. No pre-solstice 8.
8 recorded only on 7/7 in July.
Fun prediction game? 5 day windows allowed to allow for weather.
First 5, 6 and 7: 5- 3-7 April
6: 27 Apr- 1 May
7: 12-16 May.
We'll see!

Here is the sunshine anomaly map for last summer.

So I still hoping a decent summer this year like 2018 which have many full sun between 9am to 3pm. 2022 is a year of horror first is record 2 weeks dull days after 40C temps which now distant memory unlike 2003 always in my mind. 2nd for 2022 is snowless year.
