You posted a link earlier today to an article suggesting test results are still taking an age to come back. I appreciate the calculation but it's meaningless given our testing structure?

Not sure the picture in the first article makes me see much point in young kids going to school - a young boy hugging his mum about to be greeted by a member of staff dressed like something from "Outbreak".

And the McGill decision strikes me as premature. The corporate waffle from the provost in the announcement makes me immediately suspicious. Cynically I wonder if they are facing a looming cash flow problem and trying to make sure they can cover foreign students who make up a good proportion of their revenue. I suspect there will be a reaction from students and parents wanting fees reduced as I can't see how they can provide the same educational level remotely.

I seriously wonder what happened to common sense!  Heaven knows we complain enough about being spoon fed, maybe that’s caused some to forget how to take responsibility.

Interesting how the very same flag shaggers who were out breaking social distancing last Friday got very little coverage in the same newspapers who now have pictures of packed tube trains, full of workers who have no choice but to put themselves at risk on public transport

Been watching PM answering questions in the House live. He is struggling somewhat to answer apart from the  friendly set up ones. He has got quite flustered a couple of times. I think one of the problems is he can't use his usual cheeky chap jokey routine on this subject. The one he is clearly lying about and not answering is the fact that he did not discuss the new measures with the devolved governments. His only answer was to keep saying that they could make their own decisions because they have different R values. But surely they are lower in many of the devolved regions so why would they make them stricter than England?

edit: Just said we are currently getting "billions of pieces of PPE to where they are needed". Billions? Honestly?

I don't see how Boris could be personally held responsible for bureaucratic incompetence.

While cases have gone down a lot there are still pockets of infections persisting.

Too early to start lifting the lockdown IMO. Certainly, I think everyone should err on the side of caution.

 

You can't keep the country locked down indefinitely - it has to be lifted sooner or later.

The key to keeping it under control for the future is proper border controls, whether the airline and tourist industries like it or not.

Those countries which have controlled it internally, have kept it out via stringent border controls.

What about tonsil tennis?
