The Chinese initial reaction was seemingly quite extreme but given that this was being flagged as something new and unquanitified I was surprised at the low key nature of international response. We may come to regret that

I recommend all of you watch the first couple of series of the Terry Nation classic, Survivors, from the 1970s. I have all series on DVD and it is highly educational. It seems that only white, middle class people from Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire will survive the coming cull

I thought it was odd (if my memory isn't defective) that a guy started fidding around with a  broken valve radio   to make contact - bloody hard work when  there are proably loads of shops brimmed full of working transistor receivers - and enough components   to build a low power transmitter to last a few survivors 1000 years !

Surely they should all be tested as a matter of routine?

At an exercise class this morning one of my colleagues said he was off to visit relations in Singapore shortly. His view is that Singapore is considerably better organised and equipped to deal with a coronavirus threat when compared with the UK. It has both the means and the political authority. He thinks once we pass a threshold of a few minor cases and the virus is in the general population there will be no holding it and it will run through us like a dose of salts. We have not got the self discipline to do what it takes to stay safe and observe self-quarantines. We'll just have to take our chances - to survive or not survive. It will all be down to individual immunity.

It's a point of view with some credibility. Speculative - but a considered speculation. I'm still watching developments.

Well, I have cancelled my March visit to Copenhagen - not because it is an epicentre for the virus - no confirmed cases in Denmark so far - but because I don't fancy sitting in a metal cylinder at 30,000 feet breathing the same air as others, some of whom might plausibly be carrying the virus.

Surely the army should now be sent in to seal off Brighton?  

A medical centre in Northampton has been closed due to Coronovirus.

Things are starting to escalate out of control.
