The more effective personal hygiene methods are recommended further down the article , so I hope people will scroll that far. I wish they'd recommended those as first priority and then at least a homeopathic top-up wouldn't do any harm

I think it's possible the virus may have issues spreading by the time summer arrives. High temperatures and UV are known to inactivate corona virus and there is no reason to think nCov is any different.

Ambient temperatures above 33C and preferably 38C with moderate humdity are effective at inactivating the virus quickly (within a a few days).

Anyway it will be enough to lower the R0 value, and any reduction in that is good.

Will also point out that most of North India is at room temperature and even south India is well below the 38C when inactivation happens on a timescale of hours rather than days.

Story is slightly better in Thailand though which will see temps sometimes get to 40C.

Well here in Perth we are predicted to be 38-40c all next week (helpful). I would imagine that it will be a different type of corona virus for those that drink it over here. Personally can't beat a fruity IPA on a scorcher.

Just a thought - is anyone on here qualified in a school of medicine other than Google and a Scout First Aid badge? There are a number of posts making me think "How do you know that's right?" and there's no link to check on authenticity. By all means share or discuss sourced reliable information - but as the song goes - "It ain't necessarily so." A plea for common sense and caution. R.

First sugggestions the quarantines may be working. Note R0 has come down from a very scary 4 to now under 2. If it goes below 1 then the virus will no longer be able to spread indefinately.
