Yes Met Office shows snowstorm here around 1500 in Exeter and for there to be snow from 1400 until 20:00 before dying out and then snow showers following when a few hours ago it showed sleet until 20:00:

We have been issued an Amber weather warning too: -So an upgrade!

Meanwhile Exeter is dry and very windy if overcast with fast moving nimbus clouds 5c.

Hope you get something out of this Rob and Gooner etc. At least we should have all seen some snow in south if we don't get this easterly  from the HLB we were all promised!!

Apparently some shower activity is breaking out well ahead of the main front and have reached Hereford. That gives me some encouragement.

It's OK, it's just being slowed down by the test border checks. Should start moving north again shortly...

One of the images they use says "Snow has already blighted parts of the country" above which is a scene of no more than what I would call a light dusting maybe hoar frost even and a picturesque almost Christmassy card scene.

If you are going to use a picture you might at least show something appropriate to fit the caption. Or vice versa.

Looking westwards from Exeter Haven Banks/The Quay - that's where our weather will be coming from - I see Altostratus clouds and dark cumulus clouds beneath? Which is unique because cumulus are fair weather clouds! haha! But Altostratus denote instability!

If ICON is correct there ought to be an amber warning for Kent and Sussex issued shortly.

Fair weather cumulus beneath Alto stratus clouds now thickening and cumulus clouds beneath becoming more cumulus congested clouds and darker!? -So looking more Ominous! I'll keep updating you all.

Latest Met Office output is now upgrading the potential for Herefordshire and Worcestershire -  I live in hope.

Just had a text from sons 6th college. Closing early today 1.30pm because of weather warning. I think the daughters school will soon follow.

Had to go to Weymouth earlier. It's another climate with temps nudging between 5 and 6C with wind off the sea raising temps.

Inland still about 2 to 3C.
