Paris could hit 37c - what's their record for July?Originally Posted by: tallyho_83
I think it happens occasionally, not record breaking.
I was in Paris last July walking around Versailles when it hit 37c at one of the airports. Worst heat i have experienced . Humid like the jungles of Borneo but warmer. Worse than the dry heat of 49c in Death Valley. Some people here could experience these awful conditions in the next 2 days!

My PWS
We're up to 32C here now (although I suspect that it's a degree cooler because the direct solar radiation on the shield is very intense despite the ventilation). I'm expecting 34 or 35 by teatime.
I think tomorrow will actually be a degree or two cooler here overall and that the scorchio will be further north in Suffolk and Norfolk.
All time record is 40.4C on July 28 1947.
Second highest is 39.7C on 1 July 2015.
31.3C current reading in Paris at 11am local time (10am BST) http://www.weathercast.co.uk/world-weather/weather-stations/obsid/7156.html

30.6 here well ventilated Davis VP2. feels hotter!
29.2c at 11:16. now 27.5c with a cloudy sky.
Some people walk in the rain.
Others just get wet.

I expect temps to shoot up round here now as the cloud from earlier in the day is fast disappearing.
Some stations at 31C
Wisley 30.5C at 11am. I'm sure some of the stations further east must be hotter but they all seem to be broken. I wonder if they are actually recording - would be annoying if a potential record went unrecorded!

32.4C here. Maybe it's ok if Mildenhall is as high as it is.
Home : Mid Suffolk.

It's far from a perfect sensor location - 2m up above grass, 60cm out from north facing wall and currently in shade. 60m altitude, wide open Suffolk prairie. We had some dust devils yesterday.
Lakenheath 32.1C
Mildenhall and Santon Downham 31.9C
Heathrow 31.8C
Date record for 26th July is 33.3C Southampton 1885.
Clearly this is going to be broken today!
MetO raw now has 34C for north Kent this afternoon:https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/u10s0djux#?date=2018-07-26(EDIT: Due to the foehn effect from the Downs, as far as I can tell).
32.8C DP was at 20C now 18C no clouds yet.
33.8C at 1pm
Mildenhall airfield metar has 33C at 12.51. All the regional metars, save Wattisham (29C) are between 31C and 33C, with the lower ones being earlier.
Wattisham to the southwest of here, which I normally match fairly well, has consistently been a couple of degrees cooler over the last two weeks
Mildenhall is actually given as 32.9C at 1pm. Lakenheath has dropped back a little to 31.9. Heathrow has also dropped back to 31.3. I think we will be hard pushed to reach 35C today let alone challenge for a record.
City airport, five miles from my current location is at 33C (rounded) too. I'll head out in a few mins to see what it feels like, but there is a lot of cloud around.
33c at Mildenhall and London City Airport.
July record looking more and more under threat. We still have 2/3 hours until the hottest time of the day.
Work: London (Central)
Ironically it's much much fresher/cooler feeling down here today compared to recently despite the dew points knocking on 20C!!
