Only one real quality team in the competition - Barca!
Drogba. Goal. 1-0 Chelsea.
A couple of Barca goals would be just the tonic.

I am surprised that Barcelona haven't managed to score a goal!
In fact Chelsea have won 1-0
So all to play for in the return leg!

Thankfully.
I'd love to see a Madrid v Chelsea final, purely because I know it's the final nobody else wants to see
It was a decent effort ! Thought that Cole, Terry, Cahill put in a real shift. I agree that the one goal will not be enough.. it will be very difficult on a much larger pitch at Barca.
chelsea worked bloody hard but i do feel their luck must run out sometime. the post , crossbar and ref decissions cant keep rolling their way . can they? this has been an amzing season.
"Much larger pitch" ?? Little difference in reality, but nevertheless, a great performance by Chelsea. Given Barca's undoubted superiority in possession, the old premise of not being able to convert that into goals stands. Cole played a blinder amongst a really stubborn defence, and Messi, despite knowing what he is capable of, was, comparitively, snuffed out. The fact that they prevented Barca scoring gives them a chance in the 2nd leg - IF they can avoid a two clear goal defeat. And if Chelsea can snatch a goal, which I feel is all they're likely to be able to do, then we just might see them in the final.
Return leg tonight between Barca and Chelsea.
Of course, Chelsea don't stand a chance, partly because they will be facing 12 Barca players.
What's the betting on a suspect penalty being awarded to Barca at a crucial point in the game, if they haven't been able to break through via a couple of conventional goals?
The final score will be 3-0 to Barca, with two of those goals being referee awarded penalty goals!
I'd settle for that, much as I hate Barca.
I think the FA got the wrong Italian when they appointed Capello. Di Matteo looks and sounds the part.
My goodness it has all kicked off at the Nou Camp
Barca are winning 2-1, bit of sloppy defending allowed Chelsea to score.
However John Terry has been sent off for a straight red.
Couldn't happen to a better guy.
However conceding the goal, has left a mountain to climb, unless Messi can run riot.
It seems as if it was a bit of a nothing red card, could it be challenged?
Apparently they have, but:
"Under Article 44.4 of UEFA's disciplinary regulations, appeals are only allowed against cautions on the grounds of mistaken identity."
So it's ok
I hate Barca with every fibre and sinew of my being. They are soft, lying, cheating midget scumbags. Unfortunately, from my perspective, they need to get another goal at least.
