I have a feeling that a cool March could be in the offing, but probably not a startlingly cold one. With that in mind... 5.6 °C, please.

Who knows?....with Feb CET where it is, last third must be around 10c; take this forward, with lengthening days and a stronger sun, a figure of 10c is not out of the question.

As far as I'm concerned, i'm so far out of the loop now,  I may as well continue with my maverick assumptions - which way for this month still to be determined.

PS, until very recently, 1957 was a repeating analogue.

I am going to take another flyer and go for a below average 5 degrees celsius.

No doubt, March will now go the way of February and deliver a very mild outcome!

Public spending cuts now, are a result of Brown's lack of prudence as Chancellor and PM.

Not as warm as it might be. I have just run a series of charts and I think some cool nights might knobble warm spells.

Biting the bullet eh?  A brave move HT!  Not as brave as mine, sitting on the MO thread.

Stuck my neck out a little there I reckon Caz. I have just seen some more charts now. But I'll stick to my decision.

If it's any consolation HT, that's the figure I've had in my head since the thread opened and nothing's giving me any reason to change yet.

If March comes it at 7C :  I reckon we'll have to have a drink on it.

Going by our recent track record, anyone who has predicted a close to average CET should be rather worried

February really didn't go to plan beyond the first 10 days.

But it does make it interesting!

Even though the outlook is for cold, judging by the pattern we've been stuck in for the past few months, I think we could be in for some warm days as well.  But I just have a feeling in my waters that I might have gone too low!
